Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 1 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • .068 lbs American Chocolate Malt

    American Chocolate Malt

    Use in all types to adjust color and add nutty, toasted flavor. Chocolate flavor.

  • .125 lbs Black Roasted Barley

    Black Roasted Barley

    Unmalted roasted grain, it is the backbone of many stouts. Imparts a sharp acrid flavor characteristic of dry stouts. Gives "dryness" to a stout or porter ,more so than regular Roasted Barley.

  • 6 lbs Liquid Light Extract

    Liquid Light Extract

    A brewer can create any beer style with this extract when used as a base in conjunction with colored malts and selected hops. Contains no colored malts or hops.

  • 1 oz Challenger - 8.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

1 hour boil. Chilled wort with ice and added water to bring up to 5 gallons. Brought temp down 80 degrees within 45 minutes and pitched yeast. OG=1.048
