Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 1 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 1 lbs American Victory

    American Victory

    Provides a deep golden to brown color. Use in nut brown ales, IPAs and Scottish ales.

  • 0.5 lbs Dextrine Malt

    Dextrine Malt

    In light-colored beers to give additional body. Adds richness without color.

  • 0.5 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • 3.3 lbs Liquid Light Extract

    Liquid Light Extract

    A brewer can create any beer style with this extract when used as a base in conjunction with colored malts and selected hops. Contains no colored malts or hops.

  • 3.3 lbs Wheat Liquid; Northwestern

    Wheat Liquid; Northwestern

    Can be used in making Wheat Beer, Bavarian Weizen, Berliner Weiss, and Dunkel Weizen.

  • 1 lbs Rice Syrup

    Rice Syrup

    Used like other rice adjuncts in American and Japenes lagers to provide a dry, clean taste and light body. Adds gravity without changing body or flavor substantially. Use in place of corn sugar in small quantities.

  • 0.5 oz Eroica - 9.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Eroica

    Mainly used for bittering and good aroma for pale ales and dark ales, and also stouts. The aroma is quite strong but not unpleasant.

  • 1.0 oz Cluster - 7.1 AA% pellets; boiled 20 min

    Cluster

    Used for bittering and flavor qualities in light and dark American lagers. Aroma is very floral.

  • 1.0 oz Willamette - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 5 min

    Willamette

    This hop is used for finishing and dry hopping American and British style ales. Aroma is mild and pleasant ans slightly spicy

  • Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

    Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

    Used commercially for several classic American ales. This strain ferments dry, finishes soft, smooth and dean, and is very well balanced.

This one, while not a favorite of mine, was a huge hit with two neighbors and my bro-in-law. Still I doubt that I will repeat it.
