Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 1 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • .75 lbs American Chocolate Malt

    American Chocolate Malt

    Use in all types to adjust color and add nutty, toasted flavor. Chocolate flavor.

  • 6 lbs Gold Dry; Northwestern

    Gold Dry; Northwestern

    Can be used in making Pilsner, Pale Ale, Dortmunder, Marzen and other Lagers.

  • .5 oz Fuggle - 4.8 AA% pellets; boiled 50 min

    Mild. Mainly used for finishing and dry hopping especially pale ales, porters, and stouts. Aroma is mild and pleasant, spicy, and soft.

Notes

Grains steeped in mesh bag, approx. 20 min. 1 tsp Irish Moss used as clarifier, 10 min in boil. Yeast starter of gold DME and American Ale II yeast prepared three days before brew, pitched at 72f.
