Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 1 lbs German 2-row Pils

    German 2-row Pils

  • 6 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • 1 oz Czech Saaz - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 55 min

    Czech Saaz

    Very mild. 'Noble'.

  • 1 oz Czech Saaz - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 30 min

    Very mild. 'Noble'.

  • 1 oz Czech Saaz - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 5 min

    Czech Saaz

    Very mild. 'Noble'.

  • Wyeast 2278 Czech Pils™

    Wyeast 2278 Czech Pils™

    Classic pilsner strain from the home of pilsners for a dry, but malty finish. The perfect choice for pilsners and bock beers. Sulfur produced during fermentation dissipates with conditioning.

Notes

I used Durst Pilsner Malt and Laaglander Light DME when I brewed this one. I aslo prepared a yeast starter using Laaglander Light DME three days prior to brew. This is a nice, clean-finishing lager for those warm afternoons on the porch.
