Ingredients (Extract23 L)

  • .1 kg English Chocolate Malt

    English Chocolate Malt

    Dark malt that gives a rich red or brown color and nutty flavor. Use for: Brown ales, porters, some stouts Maintains some malty flavor, not as dark as roasted malt.

  • .05 kg Crystal Malt 60°L

    Crystal Malt 60°L

    Sweet caramel flavor, deep golden to red color. For dark amber and brown ales.

  • .01 kg Roasted Barley

    Roasted Barley

    Sweet, grainy, coffee flavor and a red to deep brown color. For porters and stouts.

  • 4.5 kg Liquid Light Extract

    Liquid Light Extract

    A brewer can create any beer style with this extract when used as a base in conjunction with colored malts and selected hops. Contains no colored malts or hops.

  • .5 kg White Table Sugar (Sucrose)

    White Table Sugar (Sucrose)

    Common household table/baking sugar. Lightens flavor and body of beer. Can contribute a cider-like flavor to the beer if not cold-fermented or used in large quantities.

  • 50 g Challenger - 6.5 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Challenger

    Popular bittering hop used primarily in British ales and lagers. Mild to moderate aroma, but quite spicy.

  • 20 g East Kent Goldings - 3.5 AA% whole; boiled 10 min

    Mild, slightly flowery.

  • 20 g Goldings - 5.5 AA% whole; boiled 10 min

    Goldings

    Mild. Slightly flowery.

  • 10 g Irish Moss - (omitted from calculations)

  • Wyeast 3766 Cider

    Wyeast 3766 Cider

    Crisp dry fermenting yeast with big, fruity finish. Creates a nice balance for all types of apples, pears and other fruit or fermentables. Allows fruit character to dominate the profile.

Notes

My first recipe effort. My, this is exciting, and not just a way to avoid work in the office at all, oh no. Will see how this turns out and convert it to a full mash job if it's ok.
