Ingredients (All Grain5.5 gal)

  • 11 lbs German 2-row Pils

    German 2-row Pils

  • 1 lbs Belgian Caravienne

    Belgian Caravienne

    Belgian light crystal malt. Used in lighter Abbey or Trappist style ales.

  • .875 oz Magnum - 8.0 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    A pilsner yeast from the Weihenstephen. Ferments clean and malty, with rich residual maltiness in full gravity pilsners.

Notes

Santiam Hops substituted for Yakima Magnum. Mash In & 148F until convert. Small decoct on side for Mash Out. Sparge as usual. First Wort Hop with 1/3 of Boil Hops (divide up accordingly between the Saaz and Santiam). Everything else as usual.

This was completely lacking body after transfer. We added a half gallon of 1.090 Fools Tartan wort and roused. The sample taken last evening proved far better and about where we wanted it. Garatchke Ixnae

Goooood beeeer. This ended up as probably the finest beer I have ever made or even helped out on.
