One of my friends is a hophead. He asked for a beer hoppier than an IPA. I figure this is a good place to start.

  • 1.08 lbs English 2-row Pale

    English 2-row Pale

    All English Ales. Workhorse of British Brewing. Infusion Mash.

  • 1.5 lbs Crystal Malt 60°L

    Crystal Malt 60°L

    Sweet caramel flavor, deep golden to red color. For dark amber and brown ales.

  • 1.08 lbs Midwest Wheat Malt

    Midwest Wheat Malt

    Light flavor and creamy head. For American weizenbier, weissbier and dunkelweiss.

  • .25 lbs English Chocolate Malt

    English Chocolate Malt

    Dark malt that gives a rich red or brown color and nutty flavor. Use for: Brown ales, porters, some stouts Maintains some malty flavor, not as dark as roasted malt.

  • .1 lbs American Black Roast

    American Black Roast

    Adds a heavy roast flavor and dark color.

  • 10.57 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • 10.10 lbs Liquid Light Extract

    Liquid Light Extract

    A brewer can create any beer style with this extract when used as a base in conjunction with colored malts and selected hops. Contains no colored malts or hops.

  • 2 lbs Dark Brown Sugar

  • 0.50 oz Fuggle - 4.8 AA% whole; boiled 15 min

    Mild. Mainly used for finishing and dry hopping especially pale ales, porters, and stouts. Aroma is mild and pleasant, spicy, and soft.

  • 0.50 oz East Kent Goldings - 5.0 AA% whole; boiled 15 min

    Mild, slightly flowery.

  • 1.5 oz East Kent Goldings - 5.0 AA% whole; boiled 1 min

  • Wyeast 1028 London Ale™

    Rich with a dry finish, minerally profile, bold and crisp, with some fruitiness.

Notes

Am trying to make a crazy hoppy beer for a hophead friend. Figure this would be a good starting point...
