  • 1 oz Saaz - 2.5 AA% whole; boiled 20 min

    Used for finishing pilseners, continental lagers, and wheats. The aroma is spicy and pleasant with fragrant overtones.

  • 1 oz Strisselspalter - 3.0 AA% pellets; boiled 20 min

Notes

Mashed in with ~5 gals water @145F -> Protein rest @122F for 15 min. Added ~1.5gal boiling water -> 1st Sacc. rest @142F for 60 min Added ~1.5gal boiling water -> 2nd Sacc. rest @148F for ~30 min No mash out (no room left in mash tun!) Sparged with ~7gal boiling water. After first 2-3gals of runoff, the temp was up to ~170F and stayed there. --------------------------- Total boil time 70 min. 1tsp Irish moss added at 2min before end.
