Used by many German breweries to produce rich, full-bodied, malty beers. Good choice for Bocks and Dopplebocks.

Notes

Trying to build a Holsten Maibock profile - lighter colour and smoother hop profile than a dopplebock, but just as big and malty. - will update as the brew goes. Saaz finish hops are not boiled, but added just after the heat is shut off and allowed to steep about 10 mins before force chilling the wort. Hoping the use of noble hops in larger amounts will give the hop presence and balance to the maltiness with a well-integrated smoothness.
