  • 1.5 oz East Kent Goldings - 4.5 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Crisp dry fermenting yeast with big, fruity finish. Creates a nice balance for all types of apples, pears and other fruit or fermentables. Allows fruit character to dominate the profile.

Notes

Mashing Schedule: Mash in at 144F for 20 minutes with 2.5Gal water raised to 148F for 20 minutes with 1Gal water raised to 157F for 40 minutes with 1Gal water Sparge with 4.7Gal water @170F Total Boil time 75 minutes First hops at 15 minutes. coriander, orange peel, 1/2tsp irish moss, 2tsp yeast nutrient in at 60 minutes last hops in at end of boil. O.G. was 1.042 at 78F -> (1.044 corrected) ------------------------------------ Tasting: turned out pretty well. Although next time I would use a bit less coriander and bitter orange peel. Perhaps this one will smooth out a bit with time?
