You can reduce the crystal or go to a lighter crystal to change the color, but I like the caramel flavor of 80L crystal. Enjoy!

Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 7 1/2 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 1 lbs Crystal Malt 80°L

    Crystal Malt 80°L

    Body and Richness. Distictive Nutty flavor and or sweet, smooth caramel flavor and a red to deep red color. For porters, old ales.

  • 1 lbs Honey Malt

    Honey Malt

    Nutty honey flavor. For brown ales, Belgian wheats, bocks and many other styles.

  • 1 oz Hallertauer Mittelfrüher - 4.5 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Hallertauer Mittelfrüher

    Fine, 'Noble'.

  • 1 oz Tettnanger - 4.5 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    Tettnanger

    Mild, slightly spicy. 'Noble'.

  • Wyeast 1272 American Ale II™
