This yeast is one of the most widely used lager yeasts in the world. Very malty and clean, great for all German lagers, pilsner, oktoberfest, and marzen.

ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS: 1 lb American Wheat 1/4 lb DWC Caramunich malt 1/8 lb DWC Special B malt 1/16 lb DWC Chocolate malt . BREWING DETAILS: Protein rest at 122 F. for 25 min. Saccharification rest at 154 for 60 min. 120 min. boil . Based on Ray Taylor's "Malt Fest" recipe - Silver Medal winner from the 2002 Upper Mississippi Mash-Out in St.Paul, MN.

8/20/2002 - kegged (bottled a few for contests.) Very malty and toasty - low bitterness. Could be scrumptious!

The keg was tapped for 80 party-goers at the Mick Sterling/Kevin Bowe combo house party on 9/14/02. The beer was gone before the end of the first set, to tremendous acclaim! Definitely a keeper recipe! Malty and frothy!
