  • 10 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 1 lbs Dextrine Malt

    Dextrine Malt

    In light-colored beers to give additional body. Adds richness without color.

  • 1 lbs Belgian Aromatic

    Belgian Aromatic

    Imparts a big malt aroma. Use in brown ales, Belgian dubbels and tripels.

  • 1 lbs Candi Sugar Clear

    Candi Sugar Clear

    Smooth taste, good head retention, sweet aroma and high gravity without being apparent. Use in Belgian and holiday ales. Use clear for tripels, amber for dubbels, and dark is used in brown beer and strong golden ales.

  • 1/2 oz Centennial - 11.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Aromatic but acceptable for bittering. Medium aroma with floral and citrus tones. Good in medium to dark ales.

  • 3/4 oz East Kent Goldings - 6.6 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Mild, slightly flowery.

  • 3/4 oz East Kent Goldings - 6.6 AA% pellets; boiled 5 min

    Slightly phenolic and tart, this is the original yeast used to produce Wit in Belgium.

Notes

Bittering hop was actually Horizon, not on list. Orange peel and coriander added with flavoring hop 15 minutes before end of boil. Fermented 10 days in primary, 10 days in secondary. FG still a little higher than expected.
