Tried this in a extract brew and turned out excellent this is the best attempt for a All Grain alt, Plenty enough bitter and mellows with age, a perfect drinking beer any time of the day.

Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 8.5 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 3/4 lbs Crystal Malt 20°L

    Crystal Malt 20°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • 2/3 lbs Dextrine Malt

    Dextrine Malt

    In light-colored beers to give additional body. Adds richness without color.

  • 1 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 1 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 25 min

  • 1 oz East Kent Goldings - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 10 min

    Rich with a dry finish, minerally profile, bold and crisp, with some fruitiness.

Notes

Mash at 156 deg for 60 min. Strike at 170 deg and collect 6.5 gal. Boil for one hour and follow hop recipe. Dry Hop with 1/2 to 1 oz. Cascade to taste after first week clearing in secondary and let sit a additional week during dry hopping.
