Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 1 lbs American Caramel 10°L

    American Caramel 10°L

    This malt is light in color with a sweet caramel flavor. It is a great malt for light lagers and ales.

  • 0.5 lbs American Caramel 40°L

    American Caramel 40°L

    Provides color, a unique flavor, body, and contributes to foam retention and beer stability.

  • 3 lbs Dry Amber Extract

    Dry Amber Extract

    Cream-colored and full-flavored; will produce amber colored beers such as pale ales, IPAs, and bitters. Made of pale and crystal malts.

  • 4 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • 1 oz Goldings - 6.7 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Goldings

    Mild. Slightly flowery.

  • 1 oz Hallertauer Tradition - 3.8 AA% pellets; boiled 30 min

    Hallertauer Tradition

    Fine, 'Noble'.

  • 1 oz Cascade - 5.8 AA% pellets; boiled 10 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

    Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

    Used commercially for several classic American ales. This strain ferments dry, finishes soft, smooth and dean, and is very well balanced.

Notes

Steep grains at 135 for 20 minutes. Raise temp to 155 and steep for cumlative 60 minutes. Sparge grains with 185 water. Add dry malt and begin hops boiling.
