  • 3.0 kg Pale Ale; Crisp

    A principal ingredient of cask ales using heritage barleys.

  • 0.250 kg Cara-Pils® Malt; Briess

    Cara-Pils® Malt; Briess

    Characteristics & Applications: • The endosperm is completely glassy and will appear to be darker than standard Brewers Malt. • Carapils® is a very unique dextrine-style malt that adds body, foam retention, and beer stability without influencing color or flavor. • Use to upgrade all types of beer, including light colored beers. • The non-fermentables in Carapils® are very advantageous in balancing body and flavor of dark colored beers. • May be used with or without other specialty malts. • Low usage of 1-5% will help achieve desired results. • Produced from AMBA/BMBRI recommended 2-Row Malting Barley varieties.

4g Gypsum + 10g Calcium Chloride added to Ashbeck Target profile: Ca+2 156 Mg+2 3 SO4-2 98 Na+ 10 Cl- 204 HCO3- 10 1ml of lactic acid for Mash PH = 5.5 20L strike water at 72C Mash at 67C for 1 hr 5L dunk sparge at 72C *1 minute:* 50g Mosoaic *Flameout (90C Hot Stand):* 50g El Dorado *75C Hot Stand:* 50g Mosaic 50g El Dorado *Dry Hop 1 (during fermentation, Days 11-15):* 50g El Dorado 50g Mosaic Brewed July 14. Final yield: 18L @ OG 1.033 Pitched at 19. Rose to 22 over the next 8 hours, then put into temp controlled 18.5 Cold crashed to 3C on July 30 (?) for 6 days Bottled Aug 6 after 48 hours to rise back to room temp 13L @ FG 1.009 Bottle conditioned 72 hours at room temp, then temp controlled at 19C
