    Nutmeg is pungent and sweet. Nutmeg is the seed of Myristica fragrans, an evergreen tree native to the Molucca Islands. Both spices come from the trees fruit, which splits into a scarlet outer membrane, mace, and an inner brown seed, Nutmeg.
