  • 2 lbs De-Bittered Black Malt (Mout Roost 1400); Dingemans

    De-Bittered Black Malt (Mout Roost 1400); Dingemans

    Using an exclusive evaporative process, Dingemans De-Bittered Black Malt will contribute the same color characteristics as Black malt with a less astringent flavor.

  • 2 lbs American Caramel 120°L

    American Caramel 120°L

    Provides color, a unique flavor, body, and contribures to foam retention and beer stability. Gives a pronounced to sharp caramel flavor and a deep red color.

  • .75 oz Citra® - 13.9 AA% whole; boiled 90 min

    Citra®

    Citra™ is a special aroma hop variety developed by the Hop Breeding Company (a joint venture between John I. Haas, Inc. and Select Botanicals Group, LLC). It was released in 2007. Citra™ has fairly high alpha acids and total oil contents with a low percentage of cohumulone content. The variety imparts interesting citrus and tropical fruit characters to beer.

Nice Black Ale

Bitterness in lower range for IPA - appropriate for style but needs more hop flavor and aroma. Could use a dry hop and more hops at flavor stage. Body is lower but does have malt to balance bitterness. Black prinz good to add color but not roasted flavor.
