Scotland is famous for its malty, strong ales. This yeast can reproduce complex, flavorful Scottish style ales. This yeast can be an everyday strain, similar to WLP001. Hop character is not muted with this strain, as it is with WLP002.
Notes
Steeped Grains at 151 degrees for 45 minutes and raised temprature to 158 for 15 minutes. Sparged with a gallon of water at 170 degrees. Added CBW Light DME at 60 minutes. Added Muntons DME at 45 minutes. Added LME, Brown Sugar, and Molasses at 15 minutes. OG 1.083. FG 1.021. 8.2% ABV.
