  • .33 lbs Crystal Malt 20°L

    Crystal Malt 20°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • .5 lbs Cara-Pils® Malt; Briess

  • Wyeast 2565 Kolsch

    Wyeast 2565 Kolsch

    A hybrid of ale and lager characteristics. This strain develops excellent maltiness with subdued fruitiness, and a crisp finish. Ferments well at moderate temperatures.

Notes

Steeped grains at 140 for 20 minutes and at 150 for 60 minutes. Added DME at 60 Minutes and LME at 15 minutes. Fermented around 62 - 65 degrees for a week in my basement. Moved to the freezer at 55 degrees for a 10 days. Placed in secondary at 45 degrees for a month. OG 1.048. FG 1.012. 4.7% ABV.
