Notes
My first batch of this beer was a success, though it had me worried. The false bottom of my sparge kit broke about halfway through and I wound up with a LOT of sediment in my carboy. About 1.5 gallons of it, in fact. A lot of very careful racking took care of the sediment but the beer remained dark, almost brown. I also wound up having to leave my dry hops in the carboy for a couple of weeks rather than a couple of days. The end result, though, is a terrific, full-bodied, VERY hoppy northwest-style IPA. Delicious.
