
Single Hop CA Common (Brewer's Gold)

I used Wyeast Bohemian Pils yeast and was surprised that it did CA Common so well. One of my favorite beers this year.

Notes
12/22/12 Brew day. Grain crushed twice. No-sparge method in cooler with manifold. No mash out. Starch conversion done in 45 min. Mash water 160 F, mashed at 151-147. Runoff was 1.037 SG.

I used Wyeast Bohemian Pils yeast and was surprised that it did CA Common so well. One of my favorite beers this year. It did pretty well in a competition. The only flaws were in traces of diacetyl, which is typical for this yeast. I didn't detect it, and thought the beer was very tasty. I will certainly brew this again.
