Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 12 lbs Liquid Dark Extract

    Liquid Dark Extract

    Used predominantly in the production of dark beers such as milds, browns, porters, and stouts.

  • 1 lbs Dry Dark Extract

    Dry Dark Extract

    Used predominantly in the production of dark beers such as milds, browns, porters, and stouts.

  • 2 lbs Honey

    Honey

    Imparts sweet and dry taste. For honey and brown ales. Also: specialty ales.

  • 3 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 1 oz Chinook - 13.0 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    Chinook

    Spicy, Medium to Heavy.Very strong bittering ability used in all American ales and lagers. Aroma is very floral.

  • 1 oz Hallertauer Mittelfrüher - 4.5 AA% pellets; boiled 2 min

    Fine, 'Noble'.

  • 4 oz maple syrup to prime - (omitted from calculations)

  • Imperial Yeast L28 Urkel

    Imperial Yeast L28 Urkel

    A traditional Czech lager strain, Urkel allows for a nice balance between hops and malt. This strain can be slightly sulphery during fermentation, but it cleans up during lagering. Fermentation at the higher end of the range will produce a beer with minimal sulfur and a light ester profile.
