Dubbel Trubbel

I am brewing this today. Will be my first experimentation with blackberries. Have had good results in past with raspberry porter.

Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 10.0 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 1.0 lbs Munich 10L Malt; Briess

    Munich 10L Malt; Briess

    Golden orange hue with a robust malty flavor.

  • 1.0 lbs Crystal 60; Crisp

    Crystal 60; Crisp

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • 0.5 lbs Chocolate Malt; Breiss

    Chocolate Malt; Breiss

    Rich roasted coffee flavor. Characteristics & Applications: • Chocolate Malt is used in all beer styles for color adjustment with minor or no flavor contribution. • Use 1-10% for desired color in Porter and Stout Beer. • The chocolate flavor is very complementary when used in higher percentages in Brown Ales, Porters, Stouts and other Dark Beers. • Produced from AMBA/BMBRI recommended 6-Row Malting Barley varieties.

  • 1.0 oz Northdown - 7.9 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Mellow English higher alpha-acid hop.

  • 1.0 oz Hallertau - 4.5 AA% pellets; boiled 10 min

    Good for all around bittering and finishing stock ales, Belgian ales, and continental style lagers. Aroma is mild, pleasant and flowery.

  • 1.0 oz Cascade - 6.5 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 5 lb Blackberries (frozen) - Add to secondary fermenter (omitted from calculations)
