Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 1 lbs 2-Row Caramel Malt 10L; Briess

    2-Row Caramel Malt 10L; Briess

Golden color and a candy like sweetness. Characteristics & Applications: • In contrast to Brewers Malt, glassiness is a distinguishing characteristic of Caramel Malt. The glassy endosperm creates the desirable non-fermentable components giving true Caramel Malt the ability to contribute body (mouthfeel), foam foam retention, and extended beer stability, while contributing color and unique caramel flavor. • Caramel 10L is a roasted caramel malt that imparts golden color. • Use 3-7% for Pilsener-style beers for balance. • Use 5-15% to provide color, sweetness and color to light amber beers. • Produced from AMBA/BMBRI recommended 2-Row Malting Barley varieties.

  • .5 lbs Belgian Biscuit

    Belgian Biscuit

Warm baked biscuit flavor and aroma. Increases body. Use in Belgian beers.

    Liquid Extra Light; Muntons

    Dry Amber Extract

Cream-colored and full-flavored; will produce amber colored beers such as pale ales, IPAs, and bitters. Made of pale and crystal malts.

    Light Brown Sugar

Imparts rich, sweet flavor. Use in Scottish ales, old ales and holiday beers.

I'd love to give this a try, but don't see a instruction section. Just an ingredients section.

take a pumpkin, clean it out, cut it up, and roast it in the oven until tender. I added the pumpkin with the grains and held it at 155deg for 45 minutes. removed pumpkin and grains, added sugars and malt extract, and boiled for 60 minutes. at flame out, I added the pumpkin pie spices. It just finished carbonating. Smells like pumpkin pie, pumpkin adds body, malty with good hop balance.

About 1 year later...

It's been almost a year. I had one of the bottles tonight that I had cellared. It really came together. Creamy head, spice is present but more mellow, and a nice alcohol warmth. Gonna brew it again this year for sure.
