  • 0.15 lbs Caramel Munich 40 Malt; Malteries Franco-Belges

    Caramel Munich 40 Malt; Malteries Franco-Belges

    These malts are highly modified, caramelized and slightly roasted and are especially well suited to beers requiring additional caramel malt flavor and color.

  • 0.5 lbs White Wheat; Rahr

    White Wheat; Rahr

    Weizens. Improves head retention in all beers. Contributes spicy flavor. Protein rest required.

  • 3 lbs Blond Dry; Brewferm

    Blond Dry; Brewferm

    Highest quality malt extract powder. Does not contain any proteins.

  • 1.15 lbs Light Brown Sugar

    Light Brown Sugar

    Imparts rich, sweet flavor. Use in Scottish ales, old ales and holiday beers.

  • .15 lbs Candi Sugar Clear

    Candi Sugar Clear

    Smooth taste, good head retention, sweet aroma and high gravity without being apparent. Use in Belgian and holiday ales. Use clear for tripels, amber for dubbels, and dark is used in brown beer and strong golden ales.

  • 1.50 oz Willamette - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    This hop is used for finishing and dry hopping American and British style ales. Aroma is mild and pleasant ans slightly spicy

  • 1.00 oz Chinook - 13.0 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Spicy, Medium to Heavy.Very strong bittering ability used in all American ales and lagers. Aroma is very floral.

  • 0.50 oz Willamette - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    This hop is used for finishing and dry hopping American and British style ales. Aroma is mild and pleasant ans slightly spicy

  • 2 oz Coffee (grounds) - Kona Coffee, Steep with the grain (omitted from calculations)

    From the arabica plant. Beans are usually roasted and have a strong distinct bitter flavor. They are then ground and hot water is used to "steep" the unigue oils out of the grounds.

  • 2 tsp Vanilla (extract) - Add to the primary. (omitted from calculations)

    Vanilla Beans have a sweet, perfumed aroma with a woody or smoky flavor. Pure Vanilla Extract has a similar aroma. To obtain Pure Vanilla Extract, cured Vanilla Beans are steeped in alcohol. According to law, Pure Vanilla Extract must be 35 percent alcohol by volume.

Has the malty flavor I was aiming for.

If you like fruity IPA's, this isn't for you. Has a hint of vanilla and Kona coffee. I will probably use more Kona coffee next time I brew this.

Tried this last night. I could taste the coffee which added to the hoppy stout taste. Different kind of IPA, but Delicious.
