This yeast is one of the most widely used lager yeasts in the world. Very malty and clean, great for all German lagers, pilsner, oktoberfest, and marzen.

Notes

First BIAB day! Step mash: keggle 122 deg for 15 min. 143 deg for 45 min. 161 deg for 20 min. Sparge: spare pot 173 deg for 10 min. Looks and smells like a winner. I used a starter made from WLP830 from my "Crawlspace 2012". I will sit this right next to it in my crawlspace to keep it company for about 6 weeks. I will keep you posted.

After aging this in my basement, i am very pleased with this beer. It is such a refreshing and perfectly balanced Helles. Man, I wish I made 10 gallons of this fine tasty beverage for the summer days to come. I have changed my views on BIAB for sure now. Cheers!
