Ingredients (Extract8 L)

  • 0.09 kg American Chocolate Malt

    American Chocolate Malt

    Use in all types to adjust color and add nutty, toasted flavor. Chocolate flavor.

  • 0.11 kg Carastan® Malt; Bairds Malt

    Carastan® Malt; Bairds Malt

    A British pale, brown-colored, crystal malt with a caramel/toffee flavor and hints of toasted bread.

  • 0.17 kg Roasted Barley

    Roasted Barley

    Sweet, grainy, coffee flavor and a red to deep brown color. For porters and stouts.

  • 0.10 kg Munich Malt

    Munich Malt

    Sweet, toasted flavor and aroma. For Oktoberfests and malty styles

  • 2.24 kg Liquid Dark Extract

    Liquid Dark Extract

    Used predominantly in the production of dark beers such as milds, browns, porters, and stouts.

  • 0.08 kg Malto Dextrin

    Malto Dextrin

    Adds body and mouthfeel. For all extract beers. Does not ferment.

  • 18 g Galena - 13.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Galena

    Neutral. This hop can be very bitter, but blends well with finishing hops. Used in American ales and lagers, but suitable for all beer styles. Aroma is medium but pleasant.

  • 5 g Cascade - 5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 5 g Hallertau - 4.5 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    Hallertau

    Good for all around bittering and finishing stock ales, Belgian ales, and continental style lagers. Aroma is mild, pleasant and flowery.

  • Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

    Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

    Used commercially for several classic American ales. This strain ferments dry, finishes soft, smooth and dean, and is very well balanced.
