Planning to make this at the 2011 Barley Literates Oktoberfest campout, Lake Skinner. Using pils malt because I bought a sack and need to use it. First time trying a pils malt in an English ale style.

  • 10.5 lbs German 2-row Pils

  • 0.5 lbs Pale Chocolate; Crisp

    Roasted coffee flavor.

  • 0.5 lbs Chocolate Rye Malt

    Intensifies aroma; improves color. For dark ales, alt, dark wheat, stout and porter.

  • 0.5 oz Magnum - 10.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Bred in 1980 at Germany’s Hüll Hop Research Center, this high-alpha variety is renowned for its exceptionally large, heavy cones. Hallertauer Magnum delivers excellent yields and, like many Hüll-developed hops, boasts a strong resistance to disease.

  • 0.5 oz Cascade - 5.0 AA% whole; boiled 30 min

Notes

SS infusion mash @ 150, fermenting at room temp. Yeast is actually WLP090 San Diego Super Yeast, not yet on the list, s/b similar to WLP001.
