Just finished brewing this recipe for the first time

We just finished brewing this pumpkin ale. It is a recipe that the local brew shop owner and a couple friends helped me come up with, so I have great expectations! The wort came out with a splendid orange/auburn color and smells delicious! I can not wait to try it out. Let me know how it turns out for you.

updates on this brew

Today I racked this into the secondary as it is the two week point and need to get it done in time for the holidays. The brew has a wonderful smell, and great color. However, we sampled a little bit and it doesn't really have much flavor or taste, so we added some (don't know how much, but a fair amount) of pumpkin pie spice into the secondary and gently stirred it in. There was a lot of trub resting which again smelled wonderfully pumpkiny, and looked like one too. Wish the brew tasted like the trub smelled. Oh well, whatever, we'll see how it turns out.

Bottling night comments

Well the Term Grav came out right. My wife (who I made this for) said that she likes it, but I don't care for it. I should have stuck with the original recipe I found on BT. Perhaps it's because I personally don't really care for it, but I will not be making this recipe again next year. Man that sucks to have to rate your own brew at only 2 stars

I was a little harsh a little early.

This didn't turn out bad after all. It ended up being very smooth, and sweet, with the flavors all up front. Nothing hidden in the taste. Good, but I'll try out a different one next year.
