Belgian Blond Ale • All Grain • 5 gal

Never made a Belgian blonde. Made this with the generator to get a base and changed some of the ingredients to what I use. Any comments on this recipe would be welcome before I make it.

  • 10 lbs Golden Promise Pale

    Golden Promise Pale

  • 1 lbs Golden Naked Oats

    Huskless oat crystal malt. Exotic ingredient for subtle nutty difference. This malt lends a sweet berry-nut flavor. Use at a rate of 4-15% of the total grist to deliver a deep golden hue with light caramel flavors as well as a creamy, satin finish.

  • .5 lbs Candi Sugar Clear

    Candi Sugar Clear

    Smooth taste, good head retention, sweet aroma and high gravity without being apparent. Use in Belgian and holiday ales. Use clear for tripels, amber for dubbels, and dark is used in brown beer and strong golden ales.

  • 1 oz Glacier - 5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    An excellent new variety with balanced bittering properties combined with a good aroma profile.

  • 0.50 oz Crystal - 3.2 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Scotland is famous for its malty, strong ales. This yeast can reproduce complex, flavorful Scottish style ales. This yeast can be an everyday strain, similar to WLP001. Hop character is not muted with this strain, as it is with WLP002.
