Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 4 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 4 lbs English 2-row Pale

    English 2-row Pale

    All English Ales. Workhorse of British Brewing. Infusion Mash.

  • 1 lbs Crystal Malt 80°L

    Crystal Malt 80°L

    Body and Richness. Distictive Nutty flavor and or sweet, smooth caramel flavor and a red to deep red color. For porters, old ales.

  • 1/2 oz Chinook - 12.2 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Chinook

    Spicy, Medium to Heavy.Very strong bittering ability used in all American ales and lagers. Aroma is very floral.

  • 1/2 oz Cascade - 8.3 AA% whole; boiled 15 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 1/2 oz Cascade - 8.3 AA% whole; boiled 1 min

  • 1/4 lb Roasted Hemp Seed - (omitted from calculations)

  • White Labs WLP530 Abbey Ale

    White Labs WLP530 Abbey Ale

    Used in two of the six Trappist breweries remaining in the world, this yeast produces the distinctive fruitiness and plum characteristics. Excellent yeast for high gravity beers, Belgian ales, dubbels and trippels.

Notes

1/4 # hemp seeds roasted at 450 F for three minutes and allowed to cool in oven; total 20 minutes in oven 1/2 z hemp seeds added with Cascade hops for 15 minutes of boil Three-step decoction mash used: 65 min at 130 F 60 min at 145 F 40 min at 160 F
