Munich Helles • All Grain • 5.5 gal

flyhighty

First attempt at a Munich Helles. Turned out awesome! One of those beers you start drinking and next thing you know, your glass is empty. Didn't follow the hop boil times as listed on the recipe. Mashed @150 for 10 minutes, then increased to 158, held 15 minutes. .5 oz Tradition and .25 Tettnanger, boiled 30 min. Next, .25 oz Strisselspalt and .25 oz Tradition, boil 15 min. Add Wirfloc, .25 oz. Strisselspalt, .5 oz Tettnanger, boil 14 min. .5 oz Strisselspalt and .25 oz Tettnanger, boil 1 min. Primary fermentation @ 52, lager @ 32 after 1 week. Lagered 5 weeks. OG 1.054, FG 1.012. All hail Reinheitsgebot!
