The color will be lighter than this as the only choices for candi sugar are dark and clear. The recipe calls for amber which is in the middle I think. The recipe has the color listed as about 26 srm.

Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 8 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 5 lbs Belgian Pils

    Belgian Pils

    Pilsner style malted barley grain.

  • 1/2 lbs Belgian Cara-Pils

    Belgian Cara-Pils

    Significantly increases foam/head retention and body of the beer.

  • 1 lbs Belgian Special B

  • 1/8 lbs Belgian Chocolate Malt

    Adds a nutty flavor, Brown Ales

  • 2 lbs Candi Sugar Dark

    Candi Sugar Dark

    Smooth taste, good head retention, sweet aroma and high gravity without being apparent. Use in Belgian and holiday ales. Use clear for tripels, amber for dubbels, and dark is used in brown beer and strong golden ales.

  • 2 oz Perle - 6.5 AA% pellets; boiled 55 min

Notes

Add the sweet gale and nutmeg within the last five minutes of the boil. Primary fermentation of about a week, the secondary for about 2-3 weeks and then prime with 3/4 cup corn sugar and aloow to condition for at least 2 weeks before enjoying!!!!!
