Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 2.00 lbs Belgian Pils

    Belgian Pils

    Pilsner style malted barley grain.

  • 1.00 lbs Crystal Malt 80°L

    Crystal Malt 80°L

    Body and Richness. Distictive Nutty flavor and or sweet, smooth caramel flavor and a red to deep red color. For porters, old ales.

  • 6.00 lbs Pale Liquid; Alexanders

    Pale Liquid; Alexanders

    Reportedly lightest colored malt extract available.

  • 3.00 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • 1.00 lbs Candi Sugar Clear

    Candi Sugar Clear

    Smooth taste, good head retention, sweet aroma and high gravity without being apparent. Use in Belgian and holiday ales. Use clear for tripels, amber for dubbels, and dark is used in brown beer and strong golden ales.

  • 0.30 lbs Oat Flakes; Gilbertson & Page

    Oat Flakes; Gilbertson & Page

    Steamed, not roasted, Mash Ready Oat Flakes will add a distinct full-bodied flavor and creamy texture. Can be used in amounts of up to 30% of grist total.

    Simular to Fuggles but a little sweeter.

  • Wyeast 1214 Belgian Abbey™

    Wyeast 1214 Belgian Abbey™

    Abbey-style top-fermenting yeast, suitable for high-gravity beers. Estery.

Notes

Add 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1/4 ounce of grated ginger to the wort after heat is turned off. Stir, cover with lid, and let sit for 15 minutes.
