The Whoner

Just brewed this last night. I'm looking for suggestions as I try to improve upon my IPA making. I'll primary for 2 weeks, Seconday for 2 and then bottle with some priming sugar and let sit for 3 weeks.

It would be worth nothing that the Amarillo hop in the beginning list at 18.5% aau is actually Summit hops. It was not on the choice, but it is close the the Amarillo hop, so I thought this would be an accurate replacement. I came in with an OG around 1.070

IPA Suggestions

With your hop and yeast choices, it sounds like you're off to a great start. I've done IPAs in two weeks: one primary, one secondary/dry-hop. The IPA I left in secondary longer didn't come out with the same hop flavor (kind of funky). Also, if you want a lot of flavor, I'd recommend continuous hopping. Get something like Simcoe or Amarillo and just stand by your boil and throw a half ounce in every ten minutes or so and you'll get an amazing hoppiness. Finally, don't forget the malt--something to add a little surprise after the bitterness fades. Good luck brewing...
