Ingredients (Extract19 L)

  • 1.5 kg Pale Liquid; Alexanders

    Pale Liquid; Alexanders

Reportedly lightest colored malt extract available.

  • 1.5 kg Munich Amber; Weyermann

    Munich Amber; Weyermann

Weyermann Munich Amber Extract produces typical Munich Beers, Maerzen, Festival Beers and Bock Beers.

  • 32 g Northern Brewer - 7.9 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Northern Brewer

Used for bittering with strong flavors and very fragrant in steam beers, dark English ales, and German lagers. Aroma is medium-strong with evergreen and mint overtones.

  • 16 g Cascade - 7.2 AA% pellets; boiled 5 min

    Cascade

Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 3 g Cascade - 7.2 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    Cascade

Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • Danstar Nottingham

    Danstar Nottingham

The Nottingham strain was selected for its highly flocculant & relatively full attenuation properties. It produces low concentrations of fruity and estery aromas and has been described as neutral for ale yeast, allowing the full natural flavor of malt & hops to develop. The recommended fermentation temperature range of this strain is 14° to 21°C (57° to 70°F) with good tolerance to low fermentation temperatures (12°C/54°F) that allow this strain to be used in lager-style beer. With a relatively high alcohol tolerance, Nottingham is a great choice for creation of higher-alcohol specialty beers!

Not a bad beer at all

I was happy with this beer and would brew it again. However, I like the fresh taste of using crystal malt rather than just extract - hence only 3 stars. Saying that, I enjoyed drinking every last drop of this one.
