Ingredients (Extract5.5 gal)

  • 1.5 lbs CaraMalt; Beeston

    CaraMalt; Beeston

    Often used to give color and flavor to pale lagers.

  • 4 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • 2 lbs Honey

    Honey

    Imparts sweet and dry taste. For honey and brown ales. Also: specialty ales.

  • 0.4 oz Perle - 8.2 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Perle

    Used mainly for its minty bittering and good green hop aromas in all non-pilsener lagersand wheats. Aroma is pleasant and slightly spicy

  • 0.49 oz Amarillo® - 8.5 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Amarillo®

    Grown in Washington. A newer multi-use hop with a nice citrus-flower bouquet and medium-high acid content suited for bittering. Used in American Ales and IPAs.

  • 0.50 oz Crystal - 3.2 AA% whole; boiled 3 min

    Crystal

    Mild. 'Noble'. Used mainly for its aroma which is mild and pleasant.

  • Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

    Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

    Used commercially for several classic American ales. This strain ferments dry, finishes soft, smooth and dean, and is very well balanced.
