White Labs WLP320 American Hefeweizen Ale
White Labs WLP320 American Hefeweizen Ale
This yeast is used to produce the Oregon style American Hefeweizen. Unlike WLP300, this yeast produces a very slight amount of the banana and clove notes. It produces some sulfur, but is otherwise a clean fermenting yeast, which does not flocculate well,
Notes
Steep specialty grains for 30 minutes at 150-154 degrees. Add dried sweet orange peel at last 15 minuted of boil.

Another batch in the keg

Another batch has graced my kegs once again. This is hands down, my wife's favorite beer. I would love to give it a 5 star rating, but due to the darker color, I'l give it a 4.

Was your "Volume Boiled" really 6 gallons as the recipe states? Or, was that the final "fill" volume when the OG reading was taken? I brewed your recipe last weekend. Looking forward to the results. Thanks for posting it.

Yes I began with a 6gal boil, and took my OG reading at end of boil, which was 5 gal. Let me know how it turns out.
great clone!

This beer is outstanding and easy to brew. Maybe tone down the bittering hops to 1oz but very good beer!!! Thanks for sharing.

Did anyone brewing this have what's called a Krausen blowout during the fermitation process?
