Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • .5 lbs Crystal Malt 80°L

    Crystal Malt 80°L

    Body and Richness. Distictive Nutty flavor and or sweet, smooth caramel flavor and a red to deep red color. For porters, old ales.

  • 4 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • .5 oz Cascade - 6.9 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • .5 oz Cascade - 6.9 AA% whole; boiled 30 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • .5 oz Cascade - 6.9 AA% whole; boiled 15 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • White Labs WLP051 California Ale V

    White Labs WLP051 California Ale V

    From Northern California. This strain is more fruity than WLP001, and slightly more flocculant. Attenuation is lower, resulting in a fuller bodied beer than with WLP001.

English Style ordinary bitter using American Ingredients

Turned out to be a pretty decent beer. Inexpensive, simple, and refreshing. Will definitely brew this again, but with more hops overall- probably an extra 1/2 to 3/4 oz.
