Just playing around with a lite, low calorie scottish ale. Use the dry light extract for priming when bottling.

Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 0.25 lbs American Caramel 10°L

    American Caramel 10°L

    This malt is light in color with a sweet caramel flavor. It is a great malt for light lagers and ales.

  • 0.50 lbs British Dark Crystal

    British Dark Crystal

    Sweet caramel flavor, mouthfeel. For porters, stouts, old ales and any dark ale.

  • 4.0 lbs Premier Gold Liquid

    Premier Gold Liquid

    A light- to medium-bodied lager or ale of yellow to gold color.

  • 0.25 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • 0.5 oz First Gold - 7.5 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    First Gold

    First commercial dwarf hop designed for aroma consideration in England, a very promising hop.

  • 0.5 oz Fuggle - 4.8 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    Fuggle

    Mild. Mainly used for finishing and dry hopping especially pale ales, porters, and stouts. Aroma is mild and pleasant, spicy, and soft.

    Scotland is famous for its malty, strong ales. This yeast can reproduce complex, flavorful Scottish style ales. This yeast can be an everyday strain, similar to WLP001. Hop character is not muted with this strain, as it is with WLP002.
