Ingredients (Partial Mash7 gal)

  • 4.75 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 4.75 lbs German 2-row Pils

    German 2-row Pils

  • 1 lbs Honey Malt

    Honey Malt

    Nutty honey flavor. For brown ales, Belgian wheats, bocks and many other styles.

  • .5 lbs White Wheat Malt

    White Wheat Malt

    Weizens. Improves head retention in all beers. Contributes spicy flavor. Protein rest required.

  • 1 lbs Rice Syrup

    Rice Syrup

    Rice syrup has no flavor impact in beer. Rich in fermentable sugar, light in color and body with crisp, dry taste.

  • 1 oz Liberty - 4.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Liberty

    Used mainly for finishing German and American style ales and lagers. Aroma is mild and pleasant.

Notes

Mash at 149F for 90 minutes. Boil 90 minutes. Ferment at 65F.

Formulated this recipe for a friend who wanted a "light bodied, light colored ale with a touch of honey flavor and very little bitterness". OG = 1.05 #43
