Oatberry Scone Ale

Oatberry Scone Ale

Scottish Light 60/- • Partial Mash • 5 gal

ScottK

Daydream recipe. I haven't brewed this yet. Let me know if you try it. I envision the partial mash as utilizing a protein rest that favors head retention, and a sacharification temp range that produces low to moderate dextrins (the oats should provide enough body without the dextrin).

Ingredients (Partial Mash5 gal)

  • 1.5 lbs Golden Naked Oats

    Golden Naked Oats

Huskless oat crystal malt. Exotic ingredient for subtle nutty difference. This malt lends a sweet berry-nut flavor. Use at a rate of 4-15% of the total grist to deliver a deep golden hue with light caramel flavors as well as a creamy, satin finish.

    American 6-row Pale

    Oats Flaked
