  • Danstar Nottingham

    Danstar Nottingham

The Nottingham strain was selected for its highly flocculant & relatively full attenuation properties. It produces low concentrations of fruity and estery aromas and has been described as neutral for ale yeast, allowing the full natural flavor of malt & hops to develop. The recommended fermentation temperature range of this strain is 14° to 21°C (57° to 70°F) with good tolerance to low fermentation temperatures (12°C/54°F) that allow this strain to be used in lager-style beer. With a relatively high alcohol tolerance, Nottingham is a great choice for creation of higher-alcohol specialty beers!

Not too good

OK Folks. I had poor mash efficiency with this one. I did not take any gravity readings with this one and now i wish i had done so. Basically i had some blueberry sparkling crap. I think if i would have checked the gravity prior to primary i would have seen that i would have needed to do a small boil with some dme to kick it up a little. I will be trying this one with all grain again now that i have a properly working mashtun and won't be foolish and not take any gravity readings.

OK- With a little rest and conditioning this beer has turned out pretty good. Great refreshing wheat flavor with more blueberry in the aroma than the taste. I would recommend this beer to anyone. I think I bashed it in a previous comment but I take it all back now
