Ingredients (Partial Mash12 L)

  • 0.15 kg Munich Malt

    Munich Malt

    Sweet, toasted flavor and aroma. For Oktoberfests and malty styles

  • 0.5 kg German Vienna

    German Vienna

    Increases malty flavor, provides balance. Use in Vienna, Märzen and Oktoberfest.

  • 0.15 kg Crystal Malt 60°L

    Crystal Malt 60°L

    Sweet caramel flavor, deep golden to red color. For dark amber and brown ales.

  • .5 kg Australian Pale Malt

    Australian Pale Malt

    A principal ingredient of cask ales using heritage barleys.

  • 1.9 kg Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • .2 kg Corn Sugar

    Corn Sugar

    Use in priming beer or in extract recipes where flaked maize would be used in a mash.

    Early trials with Nelson Sauvin immediately revealed it to be somewhat different in its brewing character than other hop cultivars. This variety imparts certain grape like flavours to the beer; flavours which have yet to be positively identified. To acknowledge this Sauvignon Blanc flavour the variety was named Nelson Sauvin.

Pretty good.

My finish gravity was a bit high (1.022) so it was a bit sweeter than what it should've been. Otherwise it was nice and bitter with heaps of hoppy aroma. Will definitely brew again. Will try using a larger starter to reduce the final gravity. PS. Its great to watch an unadventurous beer drinker try this.
