Ingredients (Partial Mash5 gal)

  • 1 lbs English 2-row Lager

    English 2-row Lager

  • .5 lbs German Light Munich

    German Light Munich

    For a desired malty, nutty flavor. Lagers, Oktoberfests and bock beer.

  • 5.5 lbs Liquid Light Extract

    Liquid Light Extract

    A brewer can create any beer style with this extract when used as a base in conjunction with colored malts and selected hops. Contains no colored malts or hops.

  • 1 oz Cluster - 7.0 AA% pellets; boiled 30 min

    Used for bittering and flavor qualities in light and dark American lagers. Aroma is very floral.

  • White Labs WLP885 Zurich Lager

    White Labs WLP885 Zurich Lager

    Swiss style lager yeast. With proper care, this yeast can be used to produce lager beer over 11% ABV. Sulfur and diacetyl production is minimal. Original culture provided to White Labs by Marc Sedam. Available Sept.-Oct.

Notes

3gl boil add grains and turn flame on high pull grains when you see boil "20minutes" then add 5.5lbs light Extract. Bring back to boil and add 1oz Cluster boil for 30 minutes. Add 1oz Fuggle boil for 15 minutes pull from flame. Quickly bring wort temp to 65-70 and pitch yeast. i.e 1gl ice. Primary for 7 days, second for 7 days, bottle and enjoy your day off.

This is a great brew. I lean more to hoppy, bitter beer and don't drink pils or basic lagers but most of my friends and family like um'. This brew finishes clean.
