Discussion
active secondary

The plan was to bottle after a week with the berries, but the secondary ferment was a little too vigorous. I had to punch the fruit down several times and clean the walls of berry bits once (the morning after racking). Activity was amazing, almost 20 bubbles per minute in the airlock for a few days. After a week things have finally settled down, but I'll leave it another week before bottling. Hopefully the rest of the fruit will drop in that time.
first impressions

I bottled this 2 weeks ago and tonight drank the first bottle (the last one to be filled--not quite full). The color is less intense than I had hoped, more reddish than purple. But it's a nice color anyway. The fruit aroma is wonderful and fresh. The flavor is definitely beer, yet also definitely fruit. The flavor integration isn't quite done yet, and it will be better fully carbonated, but I'm quite pleased with the way it has turned out so far. It's very dry, but the fruity acidity is low enough that it's not out of balance.
refreshing

This beer turned out well. Refreshing and light. The fruit flavors are well-presented but not totally dominant. Could still use a little more "beer-ness". I'll work on the underlying beer some more.

I also sent this beer to the County Fair. Can't wait to see the comments.
