The Name comes from the fact that one of my brewing buddies was razzing me about the fact that I shot from the hip putting this recipe together on the fly.

Ingredients (Extract5.25 gal)

  • 1 lbs Belgian Caravienne

    Belgian Caravienne

    Belgian light crystal malt. Used in lighter Abbey or Trappist style ales.

  • .25 lbs British Dark Crystal

    British Dark Crystal

    Sweet caramel flavor, mouthfeel. For porters, stouts, old ales and any dark ale.

  • 4.375 lbs Amber Liquid; Alexanders

    Amber Liquid; Alexanders

    Amber is used predominantly in the production of medium-colored beers such as pale ales, IPAs, and bitters.

  • 2 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • 1 oz Target - 10.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Used for its robust bittering ability in British ales and lagers. Aroma is quite intense.

  • .75 oz Willamette - 5.3 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    This hop is used for finishing and dry hopping American and British style ales. Aroma is mild and pleasant ans slightly spicy

  • 1 oz First Gold - 6.8 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min
