Ingredients (Extract5.5 gal)

  • 2.75 lbs Dry Amber Extract

    Dry Amber Extract

    Cream-colored and full-flavored; will produce amber colored beers such as pale ales, IPAs, and bitters. Made of pale and crystal malts.

  • 2.75 lbs Dry Extra Light Extract

    Dry Extra Light Extract

    For making very pale ales and lagers.

  • .25 lbs Corn Flaked (Maize)

    Corn Flaked (Maize)

    Generally a neutral flavor, used to reduce maltiness of beer. Produces beer with a milder, less malty flavor. Uses: Primarily for light Bohemian and Pilsner lagers.

  • .5 oz Saaz - 3.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Saaz

    Used for finishing pilseners, continental lagers, and wheats. The aroma is spicy and pleasant with fragrant overtones.

  • .5 oz Saaz - 3.0 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Wyeast 1007 German Ale™

    Ferments dry and crisp, leaving a complex but mild flavor. Produces an extremely rocky head and ferments well down to 55F.

Notes

Used English Extra Light and Dutch Amber. Corn steeped for 30 min at 150-160 degrees. Moss added with 10 minutes left in boil. Orange peel added after partial sparge.

Good crowd pleaser.

This was brewed for a party that would have a lot of varying tastes. Its not an extrodinary beer but it does fit the bill of a good tasting crowd pleaser.
