White Labs WLP830 German Lager
White Labs WLP830 German Lager
This yeast is one of the most widely used lager yeasts in the world. Very malty and clean, great for all German lagers, pilsner, oktoberfest, and marzen.
Notes
The 1 lb DME was not part of the original recipe, but I drew only 4 gallons of wort after boiling/cooling. Boiled the DME in 1 gallon of water for 20 minutes, then added it to the wort prior to pitching yeast.

I would brew this again. I kegged it and lagered it for about 6 weeks, and that was not long enough. It still tasted a bit "green" when I tapped the keg, but by the end, one month later, it was GREAT!
